Kegon no Taki

The Oku Nikko Hiking is great walking tour in the untouched nature. Hiking beginner can enjoy the four hours flat hiking course from Kegon no Taki (華厳の滝)to Yumoto(湯元) path through the some beautiful waterfalls and Senjougahara(戦場ヶ原)one of the largest highland marshes on Honshu Japan.

Located between Tokyo and Nikko in Tochigi Prefecture, you can take the JR or Tobu Limited Express, which is only two hours to Nikko station to from Tokyo Shinjuku or Asakusa station.

*We recommend that you stay overnight in the Nikko area for this tour, as the travel time will be 3 hours each way.

Tour spots information

Oku-Nikko Hiking start from Shinjuku or Asakusa station. With a private guide just for your group, you will head to Nikko station, then transfer to the local bus or Taxi for visiting the Kegon no Taki(華厳の滝), Ryuzu no Taki(龍頭の滝), Senjougahara(戦場ヶ原), Yudaki(湯滝) and Yumoto. The route back down includes a stop at a foot bath, local shops and restaurants if you like.

You can also walk all the course or take a local bus or taxi to get around. After the hiking, back to the Nikko station by your preferred transportation and checking local foods and souvenirs before taking a train. Please let us know your preference.

The start point of hiking is Ryuzu waterfall. Walking the next to the waterfalls to the Yunoko lake. you will rest in the forest or cafe. There are many places to rest on the way. Finally, you can see the beautiful Yunoko lake and hot springs field.

Senjogahara natioall park walking takes around 3 hours. We can arrange the taxi to minimize the walking distance by your request.

The interesting Onsendera (Hot springs temple)is final stop of this tour. You can see the field of hot springs in back of the temple. You can rest at foot bath or cafe near the temple.

*Important information in Autum peak season

Nikko is famous for its beautiful autumn leaves, but the Irohazaka slope leading up to Kegon Falls is expected to be heavily congested. This crowded period is from mid-October to mid-November. If you want to see the autumn leaves and Kegon Falls at this time of year, it will take 5 hours round trip, so please be aware that if you leave early in the morning, your time to see the world heritage site may be considerably shorter or you may not be able to see it.
